Off to see my Son in his final show of the year at his College here in Brockenhurst! He’s playing Judus in Godspell, I’ve played Judus in JCS so it’s another full circle kind of moment! Break a leg son! #ProudDad
Been a fascinating day here in this part of the UK speaking to many here with much to say on the #GeneralElection2019 Its a mixed bag as you would expect but what’s heartened me is the number of young people engaged & voting. Hope everyone does vote today despite the weather!
Morning. This is simple but so moving. Don’t be afraid to cry watching this. There are many around you I’m sure who could be reached out to like this. Go find them. Thank you @mrdanwalker twitter.com/mrdanwalker/st…
If you can’t make it to a TV today, this is what happened when we surprised Terrence - who came on #bbcbreakfast yesterday to talk about loneliness - with a visit from the students at @OldhamCollege.
You might need some tissues
This is sad news for all of us who grew up with his passion & energy for us to embrace nature & conservation. He leaves behind a grateful planet that he loved twitter.com/conservationfd…
The Conservation Foundation is greatly saddened to announce the death on 11th December 2019 of Professor David Bellamy OBE, our co-founder and President. The Foundation was very special to David and he was very special to us.
Thank you @platdouetschool for the kind invitation - looking forward to the performance!
Excellent clarinet introduction as we find our seats.
Not quite end of term - but a very Merry Christmas and peaceful New Year to all of the Staff, students and families. ⛄️🎄✨🎄⛄️
OFF ROCK: By a twist of fate I’ve arrived in the UK to see my Son at his collage & his final show of the year. Which means I’m in the UK for the general election tomorrow. Will be interesting for lots of reasons! See you soon #JerseyCI on the other side!
PROUD: Yesterday The @StatesAssembly voted to pass the draft Children (Jersey) Law, which abolishes the defence of reasonable corporal punishment. This happened thanks to my colleague Deputy le Hegarat showed a sense of urgency of action bringing it to the assembly. Let’s do more
Morning. What a beautiful crisp winters start to the day. Take time to breathe & soak some of the sunshine for your soul. The world will keep spinning under your feet.
Thank you for you’re hard work and everyone who’s engaging here on Twitter. We know politics in the UK & around the world grabs most people’s attention. Reminder the work goes between now & our assembly comes back to debate. 🇯🇪👇🏼 twitter.com/statesassembly…
Thank you. And well said my friend
Please read this thread & I refer to my previous tweet why we need to get the message out about the FREE listening lounge open from 10-10, Monday-Friday 👇🏼 twitter.com/CopontheRock/s…
Anyone living in Jersey no doubt heard about the incident by the tunnel this morning. To say the least the comments on social media have been awful. Lack of diplomacy and ill informed accounts about what happened and how the individual was treated.
AT LAST: Pleased to have been leading the questions on WHEN this was coming starting with my first questions in this assembly in 2018.
Over 16 million pounds which now needs to be structured to be available to #JerseyCI charities fairly 👇🏼 twitter.com/statesassembly…
The #StatesAssembly has ADOPTED the Assistant Minister for External Relations' proposal to bring remaining parts of the Dormant Bank Accounts Law into force.
The @StatesAssembly voted to pass the draft Children (Jersey) Law, which abolishes the defence of reasonable corporal punishment. This is a historic day for Jersey, closing an outdated loophole that finally gives children the same legal protection from assault as adults. 1/3

Deputy @KevinPamplin is asking the CM @John_Le_Fondre to clarify how the new hospital will be funded & advise if any assessment has been undertaken of the likely affect on the cost of the Hospital if there are any delays re announcing final site selection/planning application.
YOU’RE NOT ALONE: Following this morning, a timely reminder to us all that at this time of year can make us all feel lonely at times. But if you feel that nothing makes sense, remember it’s ok not to be ok. The #JerseyCI listening lounge is FREE & open 10am-10pm & over Xmas 👇🏼🇯🇪
MORNING: We return for our final @StatesAssembly sitting of 2019. Few things to go through & again some interesting questions for Ministers. My two oral ones below including one to the Chief Minister on how the new hospital will be funded & impact of any delays 👇🏼
Thank you for the reminder, the time has flown by! First elected in 1999 means that on 1st January 2020 I will begin my fourth decade as a States Member. It has been both rewarding and challenging but most of all a great honour @StatesAssembly twitter.com/john_le_fondre…
Congratulations to @lyndonfarnham who today marks two decades since first being sworn-in as a Member of @StatesAssembly . During this time he's served our Island diligently and it's a pleasure to work with him on delivering @GovJersey 's Strategic Priorities

At the very least, make the company pay. Data is a valuable commodity. Would the UK govt give away oil or gold for free?

Andrew Neil issues a challenge for Boris Johnson to commit to an interview with him, to face questions on why people have “deemed him to be untrustworthy”
OK: I will defend democracy all day long. But just to be clear on what I’m also saying here. World & local politics has been poor in a wider context but good stuff does happen, we need to just be better at it all. Will do my best 👇🏼bailiwickexpress.com/jsy/news/assem…
